About the Event
This year’s Art Trail celebrates ‘Connections’, which our lives are full of. We connect with each other, with places, nature, and history. The natural world is one large cycle of connections. The delicate equilibrium of Taynish woods is maintained by the balance of connections.
Our cultural connections run deep, leaving a lasting legacy into the future. Evidence of the past can still be seen in Taynish with dry stone dykes, remains of the Mill and charcoal platforms – showing this was once a thriving community. All these connections help to make Taynish the special place it is.
This year the artists have each interpreted ‘Connections’ in their own way. I have thought of some of those who in the past have invaded, explored and settled here, leaving their own lasting legacies – Neolithic people, Picts and Vikings.
